More work for your retainer, at our first price change in over ten years

We've used AI coding assistants for some time, mostly to suggest code as our developers typed. In the last few months that has changed. Our developers now direct AI tools that write, review and test whole pieces of work, which they then check and refine. Work that used to take a developer a full day now often takes a third to a half of that.

We haven't changed our rates in more than ten years. Rather than hold them while costs rose, we've let the time savings from AI carry a long-overdue price adjustment, so you get more done than before, not less.

What's changing

• Our base rate moves from $99 to $154 an hour, including GST.
• Your retainer's monthly price stays the same. It includes two thirds of the hours it did, and additional hours are charged at the new rates.
• You get more done. Because AI-assisted work takes 30–50% of the time it used to, those hours deliver roughly a third more to twice as much work each month.
• When: from your next renewal. There's nothing you need to do.

Hours are still billed as worked, as they always have been, so every hour you save goes straight back into your next piece of work. See our packages for the new figures.

How we use AI

AI is a tool our developers use; it doesn't replace them. Every change is specified, directed and reviewed by an Intellis developer, and we remain responsible for everything we deliver. Our developers also work on one task at a time, so your work has their full attention. Our AI policy sets out how we protect your code and data.

Prefer no AI?

If you'd rather your project was built without AI, you can opt out. The rates are the same, but the work takes longer, as it did before, so you can expect to use roughly two to three times the hours for the same result. Just let us know and we'll note it against your account.
