AI policy
Intellis uses AI to build software faster, under the direction and review of our developers. This policy explains how.
People stay responsible
- Every piece of work is specified, directed and reviewed by an Intellis developer before it reaches your project.
- We remain fully responsible for the quality, security and correctness of what we deliver, however it was produced.
- AI doesn't approve, merge or release work to production on its own.
- Each developer works on one task at a time and finishes it before starting the next. They don't juggle overlapping tasks, as is common in our industry, so your work has their full attention.
Which tools we use
We use established commercial AI services, chiefly Anthropic's Claude, along with code review tools such as GitHub Copilot. We use them under business terms that don't allow your code or data to be used to train their models.
Your code and data
- Your code and data are only shared with AI services as far as the work requires.
- We don't give AI tools production credentials or your customers' personal information unless the work genuinely needs it and you've agreed.
- Where your app itself uses AI (for example, reading a photo of a receipt), we use providers in Australian regions wherever they're available, and the feature is set out in its specification before it's built.
Opting out
You can ask for your project to be built without AI. Our rates stay the same, but the work takes longer. See AI at Intellis.
Changes
We'll update this policy as the tools and our use of them change, and tell retainer clients about any significant change.
